Are you concerned about the environmental impact of the products you consume? Would you like to make more sustainable choices but aren’t sure how?

We’ve got you covered.

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Erasmus Student Network Malta will be organising a public lecture, followed by a workshop about choosing alternatives to single-use plastic.

Like many EU member states, Malta will be banning the sale and distribution of single-use plastic products by 2022.

This will undoubtedly mean the entry of a number of alternative products into the Maltese market which could be even more confusing to those wishing to select the most sustainable option.

The event will aim to give an overview of the local waste management sector as well as an easy guide to making the most sustainable choice when shopping.

Dr. Paul Refalo from the University of Malta engineering department will be giving an overview of how to compare the sustainability of different single-use plastic alternatives by assessing their life-cycle.

Dr. Falzon Bouvett from Wasteserv will be explaining what the waste management landscape in Malta is like and the benefits and challenges associated with the disposal of different materials.
