This event is organised by the European Parliament Office Malta.

The question on everyone's lips after the COVID-19 shockwaves ripped through society in 2020: how are we going to use this opportunity to better our relationship with our environment?

Can we use this economic crisis – its positive impact on nature, the lessons it has taught us, and the stronger warnings it has sounded – to transform industry from a big polluter to the circular, zero-carbon economy we desperately need?

MEPs Miriam Dalli and Roberta Metsola will be headlining the debate as members of the ENVI committee in the European Parliament. Dr Marie Briguglio, environmental academic, author and activist, will be moderating the panel discussion between Prof. Simone Borg, expert in environmental policy, and representatives from Friends of the Earth Malta, Kunsill Nazzjonali taż-Żgħażagħ (KNŻ), and Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Malta.

Join us for this very topical and important exchange of ideas and information on how Europe can be an instrument of change, leading the way in the fight against the climate crisis and making a green recovery from the pandemic.

NGOs, journalists or other interested stakeholders can contact us on Facebook for access to the Zoom meeting to participate directly. The general public is also highly encouraged to tune in, interact and ask questions via the live stream on our page.
