ESN Malta is delighted that the University of Malta has made special arrangements together with the Malta Public Health Authorities for international students registered at the University of Malta to receive the booster vaccine.

Since many international students have not yet received their residence permits, there is no need for international students to register online for an appointment. Instead, 3 days have been made available for students to turn up to the vaccine centre and receive the booster.

International students can turn up to the Vaccine Center at Gateway Building, University of Malta without an appointment on the following days and times:

Tuesday 11 January 08:30 - 15:30
Wednesday 12 January 08:30 - 15:30
Thursday 13 January 08:30 - 15:30

In order to be considered, students are to present their e-sims registration at the reception desk.  To do so, you need to log into the UM App and click the tab eSIMS. Then go on Current Course details or log on to eSIMS on your desktop at > Student Course Details > View your current course details

“We have been concerned as to whether international students would be able to receive their booster dose in Malta, and we are very pleased that the University of Malta has been able to provide these special arrangements. Over the past few weeks, we have been receiving a lot of questions from the international student community as to whether they can take the booster dose here in Malta, especially since many Erasmus exchange students are yet to receive their e-residence cards. With these arrangements, Allowing Erasmus and international students to take the booster dose here in Malta furthers their inclusion and integration within the local community and will allow them to continue to enjoy their time in Malta as a vaccine certificate will be required to enter certain establishments and activities as from 17 January”, explains National Representative of ESN Malta, Luke Bonello Ghio

In case of difficulties, students may contact the International Office at

ESN Malta encourages all of its members and international and local students to avail themselves of this opportunity in order to protect themselves and those around them against the threat of COVID-19
